This is in rebuttle to an article written in the signal, You must read it before this will make sense. Sorry

Hey, Mr. Castaic (and others) or whatever your name is. It’s easy to make these comments when you hide behind phony names. I have now heard IT ALL. You guys love to blame politicians and elected officials when you think we’re spewing lies BUT when it suits you, no problem right?

Where are you getting your numbers from the accounting and building fairy?

If you can build Castaic high school as YOU say for $20 million on Halsey Sloan have at it. Give us a proposal and we will vote on it. $20 million is great.

If you’re using the $18 million given out during the July 14^th meeting then you need to do more homework. That number is over $12 million off.

Mr. Rasmussen (the Romero developer) has not been given a dime by the district for the property.

No price has been set or will be set until the State of California decides what the property is worth
based on a State approved independent appraiser.

Why are the web sites down? Got me, I was able to get to your site, Mr. Lombardi’s site, and the Official school site.

The site that was active from Mr. Rasmussen was taken down by him at the request of the Hart Board. The page put up by the Facilities Foundation is still there.

So what sites are you talking about being down or missing? These are the kinds of inaccuracies that spread the poison that make it hard to work.

We will get nowhere if you people, YES I SAID YOU PEOPLE, don’t get honest about what you put out there. You are being disingenuous with the information you are putting out.

A few of you have asked me to attend a meeting with your “I am against Romero” or any other high school for that matter group. I gave Mr. Paradise my business card and in the usual fashion in these issues I was never called.

So apparently the group is not interested in getting the real information.

Just stirring it up.

I want to thank you for making it harder and causing us to spend more money to get this school built.

Let us know when you have solutions, REAL SOLUTIONS, and not just complaints.

Your information is not factual and frankly, it’s just deceitful.

Too many high schools

What else,,, high schools! Yes! 3 high schools.

I spent the last 2 days looking at High school designs, What do I know about designing a high school?

NOTHING!

So I went and learned. I saw how kids congregate in the open and hidden spaces, I watched them move through lunch lines. Go to gym class, I saw how the performing art centers work. I spoke to administrators about flow and function for the different buildings and types, science, math, English and so on.

II saw that there were as many different ways to teach and set up a classroom as there were teachers.

We are on our way to designing and building Castaic High School

MANY, MANY things happening in our district, Hart High has a new bank room, newly modernized classrooms. Sierra Vist getting many new upgrades as well.

We have over 23,000 children returning to school in August.

Going Solar!

We can enter into an agreement to Solar Power providers to install solar panels on ur schools at NO cost to the district. The District can save about 1 million dollars every five years. The cost of the equipment is not paid for by the district but by the provider.

One of the major "Heart Burn" points is that here is a 20 year lease required.

Staff has been instructed to get a few presentations so we cana look into it with greater detail.

In a recent email about this week's progress, the below was included.

Starting on Thursday...

We opened dialogue with the Romero Cyn Folks—somehow they where given the mistaken understanding that we plan to pave their canyon with a 64’ wide public roadway with sidewalks..
We have contacted the Ventura Consulting Group about holding a partnering session—The Hart District has used them in the past
We have compiled a list of firms to do the Initial Study for the CEQA approvals.
On Monday the 19^th we are moving in equipment to begin the soils/geological investigation necessary to obtain State & LACO approvals
We have bought the construction insurance to cover construction activities on Romero
We are preparing the grading documents – Revised Exhibit A to submit to LACOPW next week.
We have sent off the checks to the Environmental Consultants to pay the Jurisdictional Agencies fees to obtain the necessary ACOE/ Cal F&G/RWQ approvals necessary—should be complete with that process in about 60 days. Last week we completed the Bio RECON ans Streambed Delineation studies that have been underway for several months (actually years)
We plan to doing on site mitigation for the small amount (.224ac) of jurisdictional area we will affect.
We have closed our information web sites
We have had good discussions with the owners of TR 46443 –the “ION” property Ron Horn is compiling a informational package to share with them.
We have talked with John Spalione who is a civil engineer that understands and specializes in compiling the bid package to get ready to go to bid
We talked with and are looking forward to working with the new Hart COO when he comes onboard.

We are moving in the right direction.
