A handful of the Hart district’s junior highs and high schools garnered Gold Ribbon status this week– but perhaps more impressive, the district is doing so while receiving over $1,100 per student less than the state average.

Three Hart district high schools earned the honor (Canyon, Golden Valley and Hart), and two junior highs also garnered the distinction (Rancho Pico and Sierra Vista).

The Gold Ribbon status recognizes California schools that have made gains in implementing the academic content and performance standards adopted by the state Board of Education. These include the California Standards for English Language Arts and Mathematics, California English Language Development Standards and Next Generation Science Standards.
